Snake Tinder

So, this is my young boy, Talysin. He is about 5 years old now and I've had him for over two years.

Recently, we noticed that he was being VERY active. This isn't necessarily anything new as he is a colubrid. What was new was he had refused at least three meals in the last month. This was new because he is an avid eater with a great appetite.

Upon doing some research I determined that he was, for lack of a better word, horny. So I set out to find him someone to breed with.

Now, please keep in mind that I didn't decide to do this willy-nilly. The fact was that we had just bred our leopard geckos (read my past blogs to find out what happened there) and we felt like, although we hadn't planned it, this would be a good opportunity to start breeding corn snakes.

I am part of several reptile related groups specific to my area so I shared a post asking if anyone had a snake who would want to have a sort of playdate. Almost immediately I got a response from someone in my area.

Since then, I have had the girls in my care for a little over a week with a total of 6 successful copulations. So I guess this is a really long way of saying we hopefully have babies soon! If your interested in getting one, feel free to contact me through email or through any social media!
